Black Cast Malleable Iron has been a popular choice for ironmongery fittings since the early part of the 19th Century due to it's strength and durability. The widely specified Black Antique finish is an excellent choice for cottages and country dwellings or wherever a "rustic" look is desired. The less well known, smoother finish of our Battel Black range has a less rustic, municiple look. Traditionally referred to as Birlin Black, this finish was widely used for Victorian town houses and rectory style properties. Our Rawnsley Black range is a small collection of authentic decorative door knocker and letter plate designs dating from 1876 to 1908.
